Indie Pass is a forthcoming subscription service exclusively for indie games, with a launch date set for April 13, 2023. The service will cost $7 per month and provide access to more than 70 titles at launch, with additional games to be added over time.
Publisher indie.io announced the service as a competitor to existing platforms, emphasizing its affordable price compared to Game Pass Ultimate, which retails for $30 per month. The quality of the game library will be crucial to the service’s success.
Confirmed titles for Indie Pass include “Echoes of the Plum Grove,” “Air Hares,” and “Dark Deity.” Indie.io stated that the platform will feature a “constantly evolving catalog,” leveraging its extensive portfolio to maintain a refreshed lineup of games.

The company is actively seeking partnerships with indie developers and publishers, with further announcements expected in the coming weeks. This strategy aims to attract more diverse and innovative games to the platform.
Indie Pass will be available exclusively on PC, but there are indications it may be compatible with the Steam Deck through the console’s Proton layer, allowing Windows-specific games to be played on its Linux-based operating system. Engadget has contacted indie.io for additional details and will provide updates as they become available.
