Google is rolling out a new search function for app reviews on the Google Play Store that enables users to search for exact matches of at least two words within reviews, according to Android Authority.
This feature, currently being implemented, allows users to access the functionality by clicking the “See all reviews” button on the Play Store. It also presents popular search terms alongside the search results, enhancing user experience when evaluating apps.
The search function will bold the searched phrases within the reviews, improving visibility for users seeking specific features or gameplay elements in apps. This rollout aligns with similar functionality found on Amazon, which offers a “Search customer reviews” feature.

The addition of the review search function enhances the Play Store’s capabilities and provides a distinct advantage over the App Store, which only allows sorting of reviews. Google has been intensifying efforts to crack down on applications that violate its policies, and the new review search feature offers users a further method of scrutinizing apps.
