WhatsApp is testing notification bubbles for its Android users, a feature designed to enhance multitasking while using the app. The feature will allow users to see a floating bubble on their screen when they receive messages from individual or group chats.
This development, reported by WABetaInfo, aligns with similar implementations seen in other messaging apps, such as Facebook Messenger. The notification bubble will display the profile picture of the WhatsApp contact or group, along with a small WhatsApp icon.
Users can click the bubble to access a compact chat interface for reading and replying to messages without opening the full application. This feature aims to facilitate quick messaging and allow users to interact with multiple chats simultaneously.

For instance, users will be able to respond to messages while watching videos or using other applications, as the floating bubble will remain visible on their screen. Currently, WhatsApp has not specified a public release date for the notification bubbles feature.
The feature is still under testing, with plans to rollout first to beta users before launching to the wider audience. Users can expect more information on the public release as testing progresses.
