OpenAI is reportedly implementing several user interface updates for the ChatGPT app, aiming to enhance usability and file management. These updates include a custom share sheet, a dedicated file picker interface, an “Uploaded files” option, and features for editing attached photos.
The new custom share sheet will appear in app version 1.2026.090 when users tap the share icon. It will provide hardcoded options for sharing with specific applications, including Google/Samsung Messages, Gmail/Yahoo/Outlook, Signal, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, KakaoTalk, Line, and Telegram. The sheet will also include “Copy link” and “Share” options, the latter redirecting back to the system share sheet.
In terms of photo attachments, the app will offer options to “Clean up image,” “Remove the background,” and “Draw and annotate.” Currently, only the “Draw and annotate” feature is functional. The other two options will only input their respective commands into the chat when selected.

For users who frequently upload files, the “Uploaded files” function will display all previously uploaded documents under a new window titled “Files in this chat.” This feature aims to streamline access to commonly used files during interactions.
The updated file picker will show some recently uploaded files, with an estimated preview of up to 30 files available. When selecting the “Upload files” option, users will still access the standard system file picker.
